No. InterpreterX is an assistant for professional interpreters — transcription, translation, and terminology support alongside your own judgment and delivery.
Is InterpreterX HIPAA-ready?
Yes. InterpreterX is designed to support HIPAA-regulated interpreting workflows. Real-time call audio is processed through our contracted audio provider under a signed Business Associate Agreement and is not retained by InterpreterX as a permanent audio recording.
InterpreterX is designed to keep account, billing, and usage systems separate from call content. As with any technology used in a regulated workflow, each organization and user remains responsible for its own policies, permissions, configuration, and HIPAA obligations.
Where is my conversation data processed?
Live audio is processed in real time by our contracted speech processing provider under a signed Business Associate Agreement. Transcription and translation appear in your Chrome side panel during the session. InterpreterX servers meter usage time in seconds—they do not store the content of your calls.
Does it work offline?
No. Real-time transcription requires an active internet connection and a connected InterpreterX account.
How is usage measured?
When your account is connected, session time is tracked server-side — not by a local counter in the extension.
