Terms of Service
1. Acceptance
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and the entity operating InterpreterX ("Operator," "we," "us") governing access to and use of InterpreterX websites, the Chrome extension, APIs, and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, installing the extension, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
3. Description of the Service
InterpreterX is a real-time AI copilot for professional interpreters. It provides live transcription, translation assistance, terminology support, and related tools in a Chrome side panel. InterpreterX does not provide interpretation services, medical, legal, or financial advice, or certified transcripts. You remain the interpreting professional; the Service assists your workflow only.
4. Accounts and security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly of unauthorized use. Device linking requires explicit approval through your account. You must provide accurate registration information.
5. Limited license
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your professional interpreting work. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
6. Acceptable use and restrictions
You agree not to:
- Resell, sublicense, or provide unauthorized access to the Service;
- Scrape, probe, or circumvent usage limits or security measures;
- Reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits;
- Use the Service unlawfully or to violate third-party rights;
- Submit protected health information or other sensitive data through features identified as not covered or disabled in HIPAA-safe mode;
- Interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service.
7. Authorization, recording, and third-party policies
You are solely responsible for obtaining all permissions and consents required to capture, process, and interpret conversations, including compliance with wiretapping, recording, healthcare, employer, agency, client, and platform policies. InterpreterX does not determine whether your use of the Service is permitted in a given setting.
8. Regulated, medical, legal, financial, and emergency use
The Service may be used in regulated environments when you and your organization have determined it is appropriate. It must not be used as the sole resource in emergencies, for emergency services routing, or as a substitute for qualified human judgment in high-risk decisions.
9. AI output and human review
AI-generated transcription and translation may contain errors, including in names, numbers, dates, medications, dosages, addresses, identifiers, terminology, speaker attribution, and context. You must review output and apply your professional judgment before relying on it.
You must not use Service output as: an official medical record; diagnosis or prescription; clinical orders; court-ready or certified transcripts; legal proof; or professional advice. Output is not a substitute for human review or your delivery of the interpretation.
10. HIPAA and shared responsibility
InterpreterX is designed to support HIPAA-regulated workflows and uses covered real-time audio processing under a signed Business Associate Agreement with our audio processing provider. However, the availability of HIPAA-ready infrastructure does not ensure that every use by a customer is compliant. Users and organizations remain responsible for authorization, access controls, workforce policies, device security, lawful use, and all obligations applicable to their role.
You must not send protected health information through features marked as unavailable in HIPAA-safe mode or through auxiliary text services that are not covered by an appropriate agreement.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference and describes how we handle information.
12. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (for example, authentication, infrastructure, payments, and real-time audio processing). Your use may be subject to their terms. See our Subprocessor List.
13. Intellectual property
We and our licensors own the Service, software, branding, and documentation. Feedback you provide may be used without restriction or compensation. You retain ownership of content you create; you grant us a limited license to process content as necessary to operate the Service.
14. Subscriptions, trials, and billing
Trial: New accounts may receive 120 free minutes as described on our website, subject to change and abuse prevention.
Subscriptions: Paid plans renew automatically until canceled through the payment provider or as we describe at purchase. Lemon Squeezy may act as merchant of record where applicable.
Usage measurement: When connected to your account, session time is measured server-side in seconds and may be rounded for display. Fair use and anti-abuse rules may apply.
Hour packs and credits: Additional time may expire or roll over as stated at purchase.
Taxes: Prices may exclude applicable taxes.
Refunds and chargebacks: Refund eligibility follows the merchant of record policies and applicable law. Chargebacks may result in suspension.
Price changes: We may change prices with notice as required by law; changes apply to subsequent billing periods.
15. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable. Maintenance and outages may occur without liability for temporary unavailability.
16. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, fraud, abuse, or legal requirement. You may stop using the Service at any time. Upon termination, your license ends and certain provisions survive.
17. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that output will be error-free or suitable for any particular regulated use without your independent verification.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for fraud, wilful misconduct, or gross negligence where prohibited.
18. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither Operator nor its suppliers shall be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunity, arising from the Service or these Terms.
Our aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in that period or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100), except where a higher minimum is required by law.
19. Indemnification
You will defend and indemnify Operator and its affiliates, officers, and employees against third-party claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
20. Force majeure
We are not liable for delay or failure due to events beyond reasonable control, including network failures, provider outages, natural disasters, war, or governmental action.
21. Export and sanctions
You may not use the Service in violation of export control or sanctions laws. You represent you are not located in, or ordinarily resident in, a comprehensively embargoed country or on a restricted party list.
22. Copyright
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, contact support@interpreterx.online with details required for a DMCA notice. We may remove content and terminate repeat infringers where appropriate.
23. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts with jurisdiction over the Operator's principal place of business shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law requires otherwise. For operator identification, contact support@interpreterx.online.
Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at support@interpreterx.online to attempt informal resolution for at least thirty (30) days.
24. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with an updated effective date. We will not apply material changes retroactively without notice where required by law. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted.
25. General
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and purchase terms presented at checkout, constitute the entire agreement. If a provision is unenforceable, the remainder remains in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign in connection with a merger or sale. Notices may be sent to your account email.
